The Neurodiversity Affirming Therapy Conference Australia is launching in 2025 with its inaugural event, hosted at the Hyatt Place Event Centre, Essendon Fields in Melbourne on Thursday and Friday the 10th and 11th of July. This two day conference event is aimed at expanding attendees understanding of Neurodivergence in all its forms, beyond just Autism and ADHD.

The conference brings you world leading experts in the field of Neurodivergence and beyond, and includes keynote and invited speaker sessions from International and National speakers, a research symposium, expert panel discussions on a range of different topics and an exhibition segment of the conference hosted by LOAPAC (The League of Autistic Psychologists and Affirming Colleagues).

The conference is organised and run by a dedicated team of neurodivergent professionals, academics and event organisers with a passion for learning, connection, and inclusion.

The Neurodiversity Affirming Therapy Conference AUS is an event dedicated to advancing neurodiversity-affirming practices in therapeutic settings. It features a mix of expert speakers, workshops, and discussions aimed at fostering inclusive, evidence-based approaches to supporting neurodivergent individuals. The conference has a key aim of expanding attendees’ understanding of neurodivergence in all forms, with a particular focus on recognizing neurodivergence as a socio-political identity. It lives and breathes by the mantra “Nothing about us, without us”, as all organizers and presenters have lived experience of Neurodivergence in various forms.

The conference is designed for therapists, healthcare professionals, educators, researchers, academics and anyone interested in neurodiversity-affirming approaches.

The conference offers a combination of live, in-person registration and online registration. Both ticket types provide access to view the presentations on the events app and include access to the recordings for 3 months after the conference.

Some of our presenters, based interstate or internationally, will participate via video. Live interaction opportunities with these presenters, when time permits, will be available to both in-person and online attendees through a dedicated Q&A platform.

Yes! Both in-person and online attendees will have access to networking opportunities, including during breaks and through the designated expo hosted by LOAPAC, featuring various organizations, practices, and professionals showcasing their resources in the Neurodiversity Affirming Space.

Absolutely! The conference is designed with accessibility in mind. We offer features such as live captions, sensory-friendly spaces, clear signage, and a quiet room for in-person attendees. If you have specific accessibility needs, please let us know during registration.

Once you have registered and paid for the conference, you will receive an email confirmation regarding your attendance. One month prior to the event, you will gain access to the dedicated events app which will allow you to watch sessions virtually, engage in the LOAPAC expo online (which will also occur in person), and access session recordings for 3 months post-event.
